Leimert Park Village Art Walk and Festival of Masks

The last Sunday of the month Art Walk in Leimert Park Village has been a long-standing tradition. In June, the Art Walk celebrated its 10th anniversary. The event is the brainchild of filmmaker and Kaos Network owner Ben Caldwell, master percussionists Najite Agindotan and Rene Fisher-Mims. Chrysalis Supervisor Rickey McPherson

For over a decade, Greater Leimert Park Village Crenshaw Corridor Business Improvement District (the BID) has contracted with Chrysalis Enterprises to assist with maintenance and upkeep. Chrysalis is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for those experiencing homelessness and low-income individuals.

Hot and Cool Café Comes to Leimert Park Village

Hot and Cool Café is the latest addition to Leimert Park Village. The specialty coffee house is painted with bright colors and has a minimalist vibe. Co-owner Anthony Jolly is a coffee expert, with over two decades of experience as a business consultant in the industry. His career and love of coffee began in 1996 as an employee at Starbucks.

Leimert Park Celebrates King Day

Thousands line Crenshaw Boulevard to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The procession included over 150 floats, marching bands, equestrian units, dance and martial arts groups, celebrities and elected officials

The Greater Leimert Park Village Crenshaw Corridor Business Improvement District (“GLPVCC BID”) is a unique and eclectic mix of retail, restaurant, art, office, parking and mixed-use commercial businesses located five miles south of the Interstate 10 Freeway in Los Angeles.

For over 50 years Leimert Park has been an important center of African-American art and culture as well as a center of commerce.

Zone 2: Commercial areas along Crenshaw Blvd. (not including Baldwin Hill Crenshaw Plaza), Leimert Blvd., and Marlton Square

Commerce is a major attraction in GLPVCC BID. From one of the oldest shopping centers in the US, Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, to restaurants, cafes, boutiques, bookstores, banks, performing arts centers, theaters and night clubs, Greater Leimert Park Village has it all. The People Street Plaza on 43rd Place and the Metro Crenshaw LAX Line (opening in 2019) will add to the vibrancy of the community.
