Remembering Carl Cooper

The Greater Leimert Park Village Crenshaw Corridor Business Im-provement District (GLPVCC BID) lost a steadfast and committed friend when Chrysalis Supervisor Carl Cooper passed away on No-vember 27, 2017. 26th Annual Pan African Film Festival

For the 26th year, the Pan African Film Festival returns to Los Angeles, Febru-ary 8-19. Over 150 feature and short films in the categories of narrative and documentary will be screened during the 12-day festival at the Cinemark 15 Baldwin Hills Crenshaw. The event also includes a Saturday Morning Chil-dren’s Festival, Student Fest, PAFF LOL Comedy, Spoken Word Fest, PAFF Fashion Show, Filmmakers’ Awards Brunch and Art Fest.

Officials at Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw Medical Offices cut the ribbon signifying the official opening of the $90 million state of the art healthcare facility.

Taste of Soul Festival Attracts Thousands

Dubbed “Los Angeles’ Largest Street Festival,” the much anticipated Taste of Soul family Festival (TOS) took place on October 21. About Us

The Greater Leimert Park Village Crenshaw Corridor Business Improvement District (“GLPVCC BID”) is a unique and eclectic mix of retail, restaurant, art, office, parking and mixed-use commercial businesses located five miles south of the Interstate 10 Freeway in Los Angeles.

For over 50 years Leimert Park has been an important center of African-American art and culture as well as a center of commerce.

Zone 1: The core Leimert Park Village

Zone 2: Commercial areas along Crenshaw Blvd. (not including Baldwin Hill Crenshaw Plaza), Leimert Blvd., and Marlton Square

Commerce is a major attraction in GLPVCC BID. From one of the oldest shopping centers in the US, Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, to restaurants, cafes, boutiques, bookstores, banks, performing arts centers, theaters and night clubs, Greater Leimert Park Village has it all. The People Street Plaza on 43rd Place and the Metro Crenshaw LAX Line (opening in 2019) will add to the vibrancy of the community.
